Mexico, in the Top 10 destinations to visit after the pandemic
The Preferred Hotels & Resorts global survey revealed that the country is among the ten destinations that international travelers want to visit when the contingency ends.
The global survey on the future of travel that Preferred Hotels & Resorts carried out among the members of its loyalty program, placed Mexico in the top ten of the destinations that international travelers want to visit once the restrictions are lifted by Covid-19.
According to information issued by the world's largest group of independent luxury hotels, the survey involved nearly four thousand I Prefer members and the results showed a positive attitude towards travel for the second half of 2020.
More than 50% of those surveyed by Preferred Hotels & Resorts said they will book a trip in 2020, of which 17% said they will do so as soon as travel restrictions are lifted. 75% of those surveyed plan to travel with their family, after spending so much time apart.
The report has shown that among I Prefer members there is great interest in exploring “their own territories”, hence they will book trips to national or regional destinations. More than 50% of Americans plan to stay in the American Union for their next trip.
Although the Preferred Hotels & Resorts survey highlighted a strong inclination for local travel, it also shows that 40% of those surveyed maintain their desire to travel to destinations located on other continents.
Regarding the means of transport they will use, more than 80% of those surveyed said that they will travel by plane and most commented that they feel prepared for it.
